Samsung Galaxy M30s: Best 4k Recording in Mid-range Device

Samsung galaxy M30s can also be called as the younger sister of Galaxy M51 with almost the same design, built quality and being the best of the best in its price. Samsung has announced this phone on 18th September, 2020 and will launch this device in late October, 2020.

Design:

The back design is same as that of Samsung’s Galaxy S20 with an added fingerprint on the back. The front of this resembles a lot to Samsung’s A30 series with water droplet notch in the front. The front of the phone is  gorilla glass with plastic back and plastic frame.

The screen is a 6.4inch Super Amoled Capacitive Touch 16M color screen having a water droplet notch at the top. The resolution of the screen is up to 1080p and the aspect ratio size is 19.5:6 which is standard in most of the devices nowadays.

Battery:

The battery size of the phone is 6000mah which is considered a decent good size of battery, a battery of this much capacity can give you a usage time of almost one and a half day. This battery also supports fast charging of 15W which is not good as our trending technology but remember this device is a mid-range series..

Camera:

Samsung galaxy M30s, main camera setup resembles a lot to Samsung’s A51 and Samsung’s S20. This phone has a triple camera setup at the back having wide, ultrawide and a depth sensor of following measures:

    • 48MP, f/2.0, 26mm (wide), 1/2.0″, 0.8µm, PDAF
    • 8 MP, f/2.2, 12mm (ultrawide), 1/4.0″, 1.12µm
    • 5 MP, f/2.2, (depth)

This camera setup has some features like panorama, HDR, gyro and EIS recording videos at 4k@30fps and 1080p@30fps. Again, remembering that no other device in this price range is offering 4K recording with EIS.

The front camera of this phone records only up to 1080p@30fps wide angle with focal length 2.0mm to 26mm wide which is also standard in all mid-range devices nowadays

Platform:

Although this device is one of the most recent and latest techs of Samsung. But no wonder why Samsung used its Android 9.0 on this device whereas the processor of this device is from Samsung’s Note 10 and Note 20 lineup.

This phone is running an octa core Exynos9611 (10nm) chip with mali-G72 GPU. This phone holds a performance near to Samsung’s premium devices, the benchmarks of this phone are given as below:

As the category says mid-range device, this device has RAM of 4/6gb with 64/128gb of ROM.

Even though this device is a mid-range device but yet this offers a lot of cool features and specifications like Exynos9611 chipset, 3.5mm jack, 6000mah battery with 15W fast charging. This chipset gives a pretty good gaming experience with high performance use.

Drawbacks:

The only drawback of this phone is that Samsung is planning is to give Android 9.0 to this Samsung galaxy M30s which is a disgrace as Samsung has give its one of the best chipsets to this phone Exynos9611 which can easily be operated by Android 10 with Samsung’s latest One UI 2 operating system.
